Preparing a new project

Let's say you want to process an image called my_displace.tif.

On Windows, open a terminal (type cmd inside start menu and press Enter) and navigate to the folder containing your image (using cd command).

Then, run the following command:

nxt init my_displace.tif

Nexture will load and check your image, and will then export two new files:

  • blendmaps.svg (or masks.svg in later versions): This is the placement file used in the svg-masks workflow. Ignore if you're using the raster-masks workflow.
  • config.yml: A text file (in YAML format) to define patterns scales (and other various settings in the future).

At this point, add at least one mask and launch a synthesis.
